Toys Beyond Christmas: Keeping the Toy Aisle Alive for the Other Ten Months

64% of the annual revenue of specialty toy and game stores is generated from January through October (BOOPER calculation based on the INSEE revenue index, 2023–2025 average). However, price sensitivity is concentrated toward the end of the year. Easter, summer sales, back-to-school season, birthdays, and outdoor activities: these less prominent peak periods do not attract the same customer base or exhibit the same price sensitivity as December, and are managed according to different rules.

This white paper categorizes key non-Christmas sales periods based on their demand drivers (fixed date, variable date, weather, personal events, births) and provides pricing and promotional guidelines for each. The figures are verified and date from 2025 to 2026 (INSEE, Météo-France, OpinionWay for Sofinco, CAF, official calendars).

By downloading it, you will discover

  • Why do the remaining ten months account for nearly two-thirds of the specialists' revenue and show a 14.6% increase compared to the first seven months of 2026?
  • How to schedule Easter and spring break, which do not coincide from one region to another or from one year to the next
  • What Should Definitely Be on Summer Sale, and What Should Stay at Regular Price
  • Why a discount on a birthday gift shifts the purchase without creating a new one, and how to create a tiered pricing structure
  • How to trigger the outdoor clearance sale based on inventory levels rather than the date, and maintain price stability in the baby care category
